So there’s this new image format, WebP, from Google.

• lossless images are 26% smaller than PNGs
• lossy images at 25-34% smaller compared to JPEGs
• bascially, smaller and richer images that can help make the web faster

Thought I might just give it a try and check it out. However, it is only natively supported in Google Chrome.
